![]() Since 2015, with the rest of the world, I have watched Merkel undertake the democide of Germany-part of the genocide of the white race, the ultimate end of what Editor Peter Brimelow has famously called “Hitler’s revenge.”Īnother American Jew, the late Lawrence Auster (via Diana West), expanded on Peter’s notion thusly: Most unfortunate of all, re-unification gave us the monstrosity of Angela Merkel. It may have been a political miracle, but political miracles can be rationally explained, and may have horrific consequences. Unfortunately, Alois never got to celebrate. When “Die Mauer” (the Berlin Wall) fell, on November 8/9 1989, followed by the ensuing deutsche Wiedervereinigung (re-unification of West and East Germany) on October 3, 1990, I was overjoyed for my German friends. Few people, including yours truly or E., who was cynical in matters of politics and religion, took the speeches seriously. The Heimatsvertriebenen formed fraternal organizations, which met frequently for Sonntagsreden (Sunday speeches) by prominent conservative politicians, like West German President Karl Carstens, a notorious, old Nazi ( weren’t they all?), who would call for re-unification. When the war ended, Soviet troops ordered all Germans in the external territories to pack only what would fit into a rucksack, and leave on the next train for West Germany, where they were dubbed Rucksackdeutschen (“rucksack Germans”) and Heimatsvetriebenen (those driven from their homes).Īnother lady, a beautiful blonde of a certain age, who worked an information stand in the university library, told me of how her family and hundreds of thousands of German s had fled Prussia across the frozen Baltic Sea during the winter of 1945 to surrender to the Americans, rather than face mass rape and murder from the Russians, as revenge for the Germans’ own war of annihilation. Both had been enthusiastic Nazis during the war. ![]() Her mother, Ingrid, sometimes worked as a cook at a neighboring animal park.īoth parents had grown up on longtime family farms in German areas outside Germany’s borders-Alois was from the kingdom of Böhmen (Bohemia), while Ingrid was from Oberschlesien (Upper Silesia). Eventually, her father, Alois, went to work in a factory, which paid much better. (She majored in theoretical physics and pure math.)Į.’s parents had been sharecroppers, though the term didn’t exist in German. My brilliant, West German girlfriend, born in 1957, had grown up poor. I fell in love with the German language, and with one West German lady, and will be forever grateful to my West German friends for their hospitality, and to the West German taxpayers for subsidizing my education. Germans I’d just met figured I’d been born in West Germany, just not in their region. But after about two years, I spoke and wrote as a native. Shortly after my arrival, friends studying German with me laughed at my unintelligible attempts at the new tongue. I studied and worked in West Germany for over five years, from Augto August 26, 1985. Is my loyalty to America first, or to…Germany? ![]() I don’t talk about this much, but as an American Jew, I have a dual loyalty problem. See, earlier Is It Too Late For Germany? By Friedrich Zauner
